Why You're Unemployable

Being considered as unemployable refers to an individual’s inability to either keep or find a given job. Naturally, the exactmeaning of the term unemployable is no joking matter in the business community (MacDougall, Sanders-Parks & Bolles, 2010). Several factors that make an individual unemployable;however, below are some of the most common elements. Conversely, it is also imperative to note that, whether it is through an individual’s terrible life circumstances or bad decisions, a considerable percentage of today’s populace have rendered themselves unemployable. 
The main reason is that some of them carry themselves out as being unconfident (MacDougall et al. 2010). It is vital for one to note that with regards to being employed, confidence is paramount. Factually, many recruiters have been continuously hesitant to hire individuals who fall short of exuding confidence. Since recruiters have been known to recruit innovators and leaders, the failure of one to be able to demonstrate an aspiration to contend at a significantly high level, as well as self-assurance, will undoubtedly render them unemployable (MacDougall et al.2010). 
On the other hand, exuding too much confidence is also another reason as to why an individual may be unemployable. Being over-confident rarely adds any form of value to the potential employee (MacDougall et al. 2010). This vice tends to demonstrate to the recruiter that you are either too smart for the job or that you are simply an insecure attention seeker. 
Another thing that makes an individual unemployable is when an individual pretends as if they are smart, while on the contrary, they are not (MacDougall et al. 2010). It is a matter of actuality that no recruiter will desire to hire an individual, who pretends to know everything, and they do not; this is because they will lead to the destruction of their respective organizations.
